Creative Director

A hybrid of two worlds! A designer engineer with web development skills delivering high-quality creative solutions.

My career began in the automotive aftermarket industry as a design engineer. During this time, I learned how to deliver marketing materials and provide solutions to increase product and service awareness. However, as time passed, I began to get into web design and learn the trait quite rapidly. This new trait allowed me to keep a consistent design aesthetics in print and online.

Because I was able to master both design and development, including email campaigns, I took a chance to operate my own marketing agency and the solutions began to grow in different industries and finally in the HVAC industry. It was during this phase that new skills were acquired, leading me to more opportunities.

Fun Fact

Bloq Marketing was started in 2012 with old friend Danny Ruiz with an objective to provide high quality creative design and web development solutions. Using the latest in web development technology, we were able to establish a system that was manageable for our clients.

Forward to the future, a new partner came into the scene who saw potential in the name and business model. That person is Eddie Santos, who joined Bloq Marketing. Eddie helped take Bloq Marketing into a whole different playing field. That new partnership led Bloq to serve the HVAC and Plumbing industry with effective marketing strategies. With that experience we transition to the Lending and Real Estate industry where we continue to provide creative solutions.

Role Management

Project Management: Each task or project I take is managed in the following way; I use FreedCamp as my project manager to stay on top of all tasks. For monthly recurring work I label my project board as follows; Month and Title (Marketing or Tasks). If it’s a monthly recurring job, I divide my board into four weeks, each week with one task ready to take place when the week is in progress. For general work I divide my board by first half and second half. Each month has four weeks total. This allows me to stay in control in both monthly recurring and general tasks.

Project/Task Demo: Every job I take or do, has a stage where I demo the work before it gets published. So if it’s design, the design must have a demo phase for review and approval. The same goes with email marketing and product development for e-commerce. All work must be reviewed before publishing or releasing.

Career Highlights

Creative Director: 2018 – Present
As a creative director, my job is to provide the best service to my clients so they can accomplish their objectives through strategic solutions. These clients come from different industries; HVAC contractors, Plumbers, Automotive Restylers, E-commerce, and Mortgage. My role is to focus on four main areas (Graphic Design, Web Design, Email Marketing, and Production). Of course, from time to time I assist in other areas. Therefore, when a problem arises, I am able to solve it.

  • Graphic Design
  • Web Design
  • Email Marketing
  • Production Management

MCapital Holdings: Marketing Director 2020 – Present
As the marketing director my role is to provide strategies to generate opportunities through various platforms or methods. Email marketing is one of them where I make sure a weekly campaign goes and the email piece is distributed through all available social media channels. The art pieces developed for email campaigns are also distributed to third party service providers who use the content as Ads. My job is to also make sure the company website is up to date with the latest blogs all focused on keywords that help the website develop or establish a rank in a particular keyword.

Other responsibilities are to communicate with other third party vendors whether it is related to creativity or the company CRM, where support is a must in order to maintain a fully functional process.

AllStar Logo: Designer Engineer 2014 – 2018
My role in AllStar Logo was to design email marketing campaigns and schedule them. Each piece was designed based on the product or season. In this role I also created mockups with company or customer logos so sales can show how the logo would look. From time to time I offer a hand on other non designing tasks. It was important to be available when needed.
In this role I put my expertise to work when it came to developing products and designing a mobile UI version for the e-commerce website. Of course I was collaborating with programmers to accomplish this task. Aside from designing the mobile view I also had the responsibility to approve elements that were vital to the look of the site. Other responsibilities were product development which I can get into detail if requested.

Roadwire: Designer Engineer 2008 – 2013
A designer engineer whose main role was to design product sell sheets (Brochures) each page was designed based on the model and style of the interior. However, to make things easier a generic style was produced to release new kits. When a new kit was released, what followed was designing an email campaign, to notify all of the clients a new vehicle interior is now available. Thus generating more business. Therefore my role was to bring product awareness through design. Part of this role was to take photos of before and after of each seat, this way we had more control on the final product.

Distinctive Industries: Pattern Maker 2002-2005
It was here where I began developing my computer skills or rather getting used to working with applications. My main task was to digitize patterns using a CAD system and then import them into a conversion application where the digitized pieces were named and segmented. Then the final application was to lay out the pieces, kind of like Tetris, making sure all available spaces were used to save material. Finally, it was my job, since I had designing experience or the ability to design, I illustrated a pattern schematic of all seats from an aerial view, labeling them accordingly and finally submitted the interior kit for release. Thus completing the patterning process.
