Part 1: The Beginning (2012)

Bloq Marketing was born in 2012 when two longtime friends, Evee Salazar and Danny Ruiz, decided to combine their creative talents and see where it would take them. Both had strong design backgrounds and a shared passion for delivering well-executed creative work. What started as a side project quickly turned into something more serious.

That same year, they identified a growing opportunity in web design and began honing the technical skills necessary to build high-performing websites—the kind that not only looked great but delivered real results for clients.

At the time, both founders were still employed:

  • Danny was living in Texas, running a growing print business he had launched years prior.
  • Evee was based in California, working as an in-house designer and webmaster for the classic division of a company where he designed and managed a large-scale corporate website.

Despite having full-time commitments and different zip codes, they decided to move forward with this new venture—Bloq Marketing.

But the road ahead wasn’t clear.

By the fall of 2013, the company where Evee was employed faced serious financial challenges, a ripple effect from the lingering 2008 economic downturn. Evee was laid off.

What seemed like a setback turned out to be a turning point.

That layoff marked a new chapter of independence for Bloq Marketing. It was no longer a side hustle—it was a full-time mission to help businesses grow through creative and strategic marketing.


Part 2: A Fresh Start and New Opportunities

In 2013, Evee met Eddie Santos, a successful entrepreneur in the wholesale business who sold refurbished goods. Eddie hired Evee to design a set of business cards—simple, professional, and effective. At that time, Evee was already offering design and web development services to small and mid-sized businesses, gaining momentum in the creative service world.

Fast forward to 2015: Eddie left the wholesale industry and entered a new, fast-growing space—HVAC. Recognizing the potential in Bloq Marketing’s vision, Eddie officially joined the team as a partner. With fresh ideas and a business-oriented mindset, Eddie brought a new perspective that helped elevate Bloq’s approach.

Bloq Marketing now had a strong foundation, a bigger team, and a broader focus.

This marked the beginning of a significant transition.


Part 3: Breaking Into the HVAC, Plumbing, and Real Estate Industries

The move into the HVAC industry wasn’t without its challenges. Bloq had to learn the ropes, adapt quickly, and build effective marketing strategies tailored to a niche industry. It took trial and error, a lot of learning, and a commitment to understanding the needs of HVAC business owners.

But that hard work paid off.

Once Bloq cracked the HVAC code, the business expanded its reach into plumbing, and eventually, into the real estate and lending industries.

Today, Bloq Marketing is proud to offer a wide range of creative and digital solutions tailored to the needs of service-based industries. From high-converting websites and SEO strategy to lead generation systems and branding, the team continues to innovate and grow.
